For the purposes of cord blood transport, the Polish Stem Cell Bank uses specially designed equipment, acknowledged by foreign experts as one of the best of this type. During transport, it is particularly crucial to ensure protection against damages and temperature fluctuations, which is especially important in our climatic zone. Therefore, the collection kit provided by PBKM is covered with a thick layer of styrofoam and bags maintaining the required temperature. The kit's construction ensures that the temperature of the blood will be maintained within specified limits.
Furthermore, the collection kit is equipped with electronic device which stores data about the temperature inside the kit during the entire transport. After the collection kit reaches the laboratory, a log table of temperature conditions of the transport is captured from the device.

After signing the agreement, we provide you with a uniquely labelled and individually adjusted cord blood collection kit. On the day of delivery, the collection kit should be carried to the delivery room and given to the midwife, who will acknowledge the receipt by signing the label on the upper part of the box.
The box contains sterile tools for umbilical cord blood collection, all necessary auxiliary equipment, a collection record form and the procedures for blood collection.
Immediately after the delivery, the hospital calls a 24/7 PBKM hotline to inform about the cord blood collection.
Within 24 hours, special couriers deliver the kit to our laboratory in the Children's Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw.
